Me and my work

I statistically analysis (I prefer calling it playing) with numbers.

I look at the statistics of very large datasets and then provide an in-depth analysis of what the statistics is telling me. Most of the time, I would need to present this analysis to people who have no understanding of statistics and that is when graphs and diagrams come into place. These are helpful in providing all of the difficult information as a picture.

My Typical Day

Coding, analysing, presenting and discussing.

What I'd do with the money

Student outreach scientific activities.

I would use it to either organise a science outreach activity in Malta or else to buy equipment to allow me to organise such future activities. Funding here in Malta is fairly limited for such activities, therefore such funding could help me kick-start a great initiative for the Maltese students in science education outreach. Hopefully, making science easier and more fun, for students!

My Interview

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Curious, Cheerful, Unique.

Who is your favourite singer or band?

There is no one in particular, it depends on the mood.

What's your favourite food?

Rice salads.

I loved all of the subjects I had at school.

What's the best thing you've done as a scientist?

A scientist’s work is a continuous exciting experience. You always get to meet new people and visit new countries. Though, probably, the best experience to date, has been working at CERN with a number of different scientists from all over the world.

What or who inspired you to become a scientist?

I was probably born to be a scientist. At the age of about 4, I had asked my parents to buy me a microscope and I had my first telescope at the age of 6. I do not think that there was ever someone who actually inspired me to become a scientist.

If you weren't a scientist, what would you be?

An artist. I love drawing, painting, photography and designing fashion sketches.

If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!

Shhh….wishes are to be kept a secret!

Tell us a joke.

My favourite place on earth is?
